Tailbone/Coccyx

Tailbone / Coccyx Pain | Coccydynia

Coccydynia or tailbone pain is usually caused by a fall that directly or indirectly impacts the coccyx. Following a fall or other trauma, you may be left with severe pain in the tailbone region, especially with sitting. In some cases, the only way to address this type of pain is with manual therapy directed at the coccyx. In addition to tailbone pain, a dysfunctional coccyx can place tension on neural and fascial tissue that has a direct influence on other parts of the body such as the low back, hips, and pelvic region.
